The Graduate Management Admission Test, GMAT comprises of three main parts, the analytical writing assessment, quantitative section and verbal section.
Analytical Writing- GMAT exam begins with this section which consists of two different writing tasks- analysis of an issue and analysis of an argument. This needs to be completed within half an hour.
Quantitative Section- After an optional ten-minute break, the quantitative section of GMAT test begins, which comprises of 37 objective type questions of two question types- Data sufficiency and problem solving. This needs to be completed within 75 minutes.
Verbal Section- After an optional ten-minute break, verbal section which containing 41 objective type questions which are of three types- Reading comprehension, critical reasoning and sentence correction. This needs to be completed within 75 minutes.
• Candidates can take up the exam all year round as it is now a computer adaptive test (GMAT-CAT)
• For scheduling a GMAT, one needs to contact the Regional Registration Centre.
• September to December is usually peak time for GMAT and so candidates need to register quite early to get a GMAT date of choice.
• Registering atleast 15 days in advance is mandatory.
• The Maximum time for the test is four hours and most centers offer two slots 9 AM and 2 PM.
