The AIC is responsible for finalizing time tables, course structures etc i.e. all academic tasks concerning students. In fact it is the students' link with the 'System' and the Professors. Moreover it also organizes the Tech Fest TRYST.
TRYST: THE TECH FEST
The Tech Fest of IIT Delhi is held typically in March and includes workshops, lectures, demonstrations by companies, and technical exhibitions along with some fierce competitions. Students come from across the country to compete in activities covering design events, programming, simulations, quizzes, management, business, applied engineering, robotics etc.
The salient feature of this fest is that it is organized almost entirely by the students themselves which apart from promoting original thinking also introduces them to event management and planning.
ACADEMIC LIFE/ PROJECTS:
IIT Delhi provides science-based engineering education to produce quality engineers/ scientists. The academic year consists of two semesters. Each semester consists of two 'minors' and one 'majors'. IIT Delhi places strong emphasis on research and development, and innovation. The faculty undertakes research in their fields of interest. Almost all of them are on consulting posts in industry. Many postgraduate students and some undergraduate students are also involved in these activities; the curriculum provides facilities for the same. While some research is funded by the institute, mostly, it is funded by sponsoring agencies and/or industries. All projects funded by government agencies and some industry funded projects are managed through the institute's Industrial and Research Development (IRD) unit. Innovative technology development and industrial outreach are facilitated by the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT), a non-profit society associated with IIT Delhi and located on-campus.
