imagining a=b is wrong here ....if these 2 are variables .....den write b as a only!!!/.............for example if i say ................................... BLUE GENE = OSAMA BIN LADEN!.............the assumption is wrong here!!!....or is it??

we all have been studying from almost class 5 that x/0 is undefined or infinite ,so when u r dividing (a+b)(a-b)=b(a-b) by (a-b) which is equal to 0 u r doing the wrong thing <<<<<<<

when u r dividing (a-b)..as a=b.. this is zero... and dividing by zero is nt defined... hence step 3 is wrong

It is exactly same as: 0*2 = 0 *15 so, cancelling 0s on both sides, u get 2=15. I hope you know now where the mistake lies.

Yes you cannot cancel a-b from both sides as you are saying a=b.

we can assume
a = b
Now, ab = b2 => ab - a2 = b2 - a2 => a (b - a) = (b + a)(b - a) [error is in this step] since, a = b => b - a = 0 when we divide both sides by (b - a) then actually what we do is :-
a x 0/0 = (b+a) x 0/0 but, 0/0 form is not defined which is also known as indeterminate form. So this is the error!............
if 0/0 = 1 then 0 x 2 / 0 x 3 = 1 => 1 = 2/3, which is not possible
